How it works

Three taps from your doorstep to a case.

No setup, no waiting around. Tell Walkdunnit the vibe and the time you have, and it handles the rest before you take your first step.

  1. 01

    Pick a mood & a walk

Choose a theme, a tone, and how long you want to be out. Walkdunnit checks the route is feasible before the case begins.

  2. 02

    We write the case

Nearby landmarks become a mystery with suspects, clues, and a route written for this exact walk, then bundled so it plays anywhere.

  3. 03

    Investigate on foot

Observe, photograph, and talk to the scene to gather evidence. Make your deduction, then watch the truth come together at the reveal.

Walkdunnit journey map: a real walkable route through Paris with the next stop revealed
A real route, not a quiz

Every case is mapped onto streets you can actually walk.

Walkdunnit searches real places near you and plans a compact, varied route with proper pedestrian directions. Each theme keeps its own taste. A food case only ever uses food spots, and a history case sticks to landmarks, so the walk always fits the story.

  • Routes validated with walking directions before a case is accepted
  • Future stops stay hidden and fogged until you arrive
  • Awkward stop? Skip it, keep moving, and the case adapts around you
Everything in the case file

Built like a proper detective game.

From the briefing to the final reveal, every beat of a real investigation is here, wrapped in a calm, modern interface.

AI-crafted mysteries

A new case with its own suspects, motive, and twist every single time. No two walks tell the same story.

Suspects & clues

Question characters, collect evidence, and piece together a case brief with cover art and route stats.

Walk-time budgeting

Set how long you have. Cases respect your time, radius, and mobility so you never overshoot.

Photo & observation

Use your camera and your eyes. Snap evidence, note details, and talk your way through each stop.

Deduction & reveal

Make your accusation, then watch the solution come together with a wrap-up and a shareable case card.

Plays fully offline

Each case is bundled to your device, so dead zones and dropped signal never interrupt the chase.

Eight ways to play

Pick the kind of story you're in the mood for.

Each theme draws on a different set of real places and sets its own tone, from a cozy afternoon to a shadowy noir.

🏛️History 🎨Art & Architecture 🍷Food & Drink 🏃Sport 🕵️Crime & Noir 🗝️Hidden ❤️Romance 🧸Family

Set the tone too. Go Cozy for warm and family-safe, or Noir for shadowy and tense (still PG-13).

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Do I need to know my city well to play?

Not at all. Walkdunnit uses real places near wherever you are and builds a walkable route around them. It works just as well in your own neighborhood as somewhere brand new.

How long does a case take?

You decide. Set your available walking time when you start a case, and Walkdunnit plans a route that fits, whether that's a short stroll or a longer expedition.

Does it really work offline?

Yes. Once a case is generated it's bundled to your device, so you can play through dead zones, basements, and patchy signal without losing the thread.

Is the first case actually free?

Completely. Your first full case needs no account and no card. You can unlock more mysteries later whenever you want.

What do I need to play?

An iPhone, a pair of comfortable shoes, and a bit of curiosity. Walkdunnit is available now on the App Store.
